Many of our loyal customers are huge fans of our Iron Out contaminant remover and it's easy to see why; once applied, you can literally see with your own eyes it doing the hard work for you and bleeding away iron contaminants.
Its advanced pH neutral formula is an intensive iron-contaminate and fallout remover that safely and effectively removes tiny pieces of ferrous shrapnel that can embed itself into practically any surface. The targeted solution dissolves these iron particles before significant damage to your vehicle can occur.
Auto Finesse Iron Out should be used as part of a multi-stage decontamination process (before clay barring). This process should be performed at least twice a year (before winter and after) on daily-driven vehicles, before applying a car wax or paint sealant - or before any polishing work is performed. If you are unsure of whether or not your car has ferrous contamination, spray Iron Out directly onto a yellow Foam Pad and wipe the product on a small section of the vehicle's paint or wheels. If you see a red or purple bleeding occur then that is a chemical reaction to the iron contamination that is present, temporarily highlighting the contamination while it is dissolved. Iron Out also prevents paint corrosion with regular use.
So, how do you use it?
For Use On Paint:
Having completed the cleaning stages, you're not onto the decontamination stage of your detail. Make sure the vehicle is completely clean, but NOT dry and spray Iron Out contaminant remover all over the wet vehicle. You'll see the chemical reaction happening in front of you. If required, you can use a foam applicator to lightly agitate the solution, but care must be taken. If there is heavy iron fall out (i.e. metal filings on your paintwork), this will be highlighted by the aforementioned purple or red bleeding. Metal filings will cause swirl marks and marring should they be moved around the vehicle, so ensure to jet wash off the vehicle thoroughly after use. Ensure you work from the top of the vehicle to the bottom and repeat the process if necessary. Follow with clay bar stage.
For Use On Wheels:
There are a couple of ways you can use Iron Out contaminant remover on wheels. You can use it as the very first stage (ahead of snow foaming the entire vehicle). Much like a pre wash; spray on all four wheels and when bleeding occurs follow the vehicle round the same way rinsing each wheel off. Follow with a complete snow foam. You can also use Iron Out after you've washed the wheels, allowing the solution to work on more localised contamination. For the first round, do not agitate - the snow foam stage will work to rid the vehicle and wheels of any loose particles. For round two, you can lightly agitate the solution with a foam applicator pad. Insure both the inner barrel and the face of the wheel are covered in both stages.
AF Top Tips
If it's left on too long, Iron Out will start to turn white and cloudy, simply reactivate the solution by adding more product or dust the area down with a jet wash from afar to maintain a wet film. Iron Out and ObliTARate are two separate stages of detail. Iron Out dissolves metal shards and ObliTARate works to rid a vehicle of tar spots. For shiny wheels, such as chrome or diamond cut, use our Revolution product. Do not use Iron Out in direct sunlight, or in temperatures below 32-degrees Fahrenheit/0-degrees Celsius. Iron Out should always be used in a well-ventilated environment.
