XS CarNight Croatia 2024

XS CarNight is a European event that you might call a bit special. The guys from XS Mag in Austria have laid on some of the best summer events at Worthersee car week for the best part of a decade. But, after more than a little trouble from the local constabulary for modified car owners in 2022, last year they decided to spread their wings and take their show across the border. And, as it turns out, XS CarNight Italy was one our favourite events of our whole European Tour. So much so, that we said we’d sponsor the next XS CarNight wherever it ends up for 2024… and that’s the reason we’re here in Umag, Croatia.

Now, apart from picking a popular destination for holiday makers - which is a work of genius by the way - XS CarNight may be the big one and, like all their main shows, feature a thoroughly unique location. But it’s actually one of a collection of events and meets they lay on over the course of the week. So, the last day of our tour of Croatia has landed us right here, but there’s already been numerous other shows we’ve attended in and around Umag, each one with a few of our project cars and our custom T2 Bus pop up shop loaded to the gills with the world’s best detailing products.

So, after the XS Mag Welcome Meet, XS Cars & Coffee and plenty of other stuff going on, it wasn’t time to put our feet up. No, we had to freshen up our cars at the local jet wash, restock the VW Bus, get our detailers to help out with getting some of the top cars back to show-worthy condition, and set up for the main event…

Being the headline sponsor for XS CarNight something extra special from us was always going to be on the cards. First of all we wanted to go above and beyond supporting XS Mag by getting some of our best AF projects on display around the venue. In fact, brought along as much of the fleet as we possibly could for this entire Croatian tour - we literally crammed a full-on HGV trailer back in the UK with heavy hitters like our, T2 Bus, Porsche 993 and Pandem Yaris GR. But, with that said, we had a surprise for the main event – the big dog was let off the leash! Our 1954 Chevy Stepside (along with our AF security guards) was displayed pride-of place right at the front of the venue.

Not only that but we also created an exclusive Umag Tour Tee which would only be available here in Croatia. You can’t say fairer than that, right?

The unique venues that the organisers come up with are what always give their events a unique vibe, and the rather straightforwardly-named ‘Plava Laguna Tennis Area’ was certainly something we've never seen before. Maybe they need to try this at Wimbledon this summer, eh?

The Croatian equivalent of Centre Court ‘served up' (sorry!) ten of the slickest builds, some seriously unbelievable examples of historic German metal… but that was by no means all there was to stand and ponder. In fact, the surrounding courts and other areas around this huge complex were crammed with all sorts of showstoppers from all over Europe. It’s no small event this, it took all day just to get round. And, what’s more, the standard of cars on display was up there with anything the rest of the world has to offer… in most cases even better.

And of course, they don’t call this XS CarNight for nothing. One of the best things about this event is that, just when you think you’ll have to pack up and go home like at other shows, this one carries on right into the night. Same event, different vibe.

And that's it, Croatia complete! We've had an amazing time with the guys from XS CarNight over our 5-day tour and a whole load of XS events, but when they said that this one the biggest of them all, you can now see what they meant.
