Ford Fair 2024
Ford Fair is always one of the biggest UK events on the season calendar. Considering this extravaganza of all things from Uncle Henry is chiefly a one make show, it’s actually pretty surprising - at first at least - how big it really is. Packing Silverstone Circuit to the rafters is no mean feat for any event, let alone a show limited to a single marque.
But, when you think about it, it all makes perfect sense. We mean, who on our shores doesn’t love a Ford? Can you even call yourself British if you can’t appreciate a modified Blue Oval-badged project?
In any case we’re always happy to support Ford Fair with a huge display, and a little headline sponsorship. All we have to do is load up a few vans with the world’s best detailing products, hitch up the AirStream and make our way up to Silverstone for an early morning set-up…
Only once the stand is complete, and our AirStream Pop-up Store is packed to the gills with a full range of the world’s best detailing products, can we get on with the bit we love the most – using our products to detail cars.
As with every other Ford Fair we had the entire scrutineering area to display a whole host of Auto Finesse sponsor cars and special projects selected from hundreds of applicants. As these guys are good enough to come and show us their jaw-dropping cars, we’re more than happy to lend them our team and a hand over a few products to get their projects looking their best before the show. This year was no different, we sent out our detailing professionals with all the show essentials needed to make their Fords shine. Don’t worry, it's all part of the service.
The key to the wide appeal of Ford Fair is the sheer diversity of the cars that turn up. It’s not just an invited showcar event this one, it’s also the biggest club event in Europe, so that means that you’ll see just about everything from the Ford stable produced for the last 60-years. And from all around Europe, too. The Brits just love a Ford, that much is a given, but it’s a testament to this love that many of these home-grown cars are still on the road… and looking rather epic with it.
From the modern to the classic, and from racecars to street rods, Ford Fair really does have it all. And while we can’t exactly show you every one of the thousands of cars we liked, here’s just a few of our absolute favourites…
As we all know one of the best things about this particular venue is the big tarmac bit in the middle. So, when we found out that, along with the usual Ford-only public track time, they we’re laying on the drifting for 2024, of course we were going to get TeamAF involved… and not just with our Team Finesse Racing Transit, either.
Now, it may be a full-on Ford show but that doesn’t mean that we were at all shy about getting our duo of hardcore E36 BMWs out on track for a spot of rubber destroying action.
The newest project on our fleet – our LTO 2JZ-powered E36 - was joined on the circuit by Archie ‘The Crazy Drift Kid’ Harmer in his AF-sponsored full race drift weapon. Even the most hardcore of Ford fans couldn’t help but love these two battling it out on some of the most famous corners on perhaps the UK’s most famous circuit. They certainly went through a set of tyres or three over quite a few special drift demos, too.
And if there’s a better way to spend a Sunday, we’re not sure what it is. Once again, we had a great time at Ford Fair, and almost can’t wait to hit Silverstone for the next one!
Thanks to everyone who applied to display their top Blue Oval-badged projects on our stand this year, and everyone else who popped by to pick up a detailing product or two. Demand was at an all-time high this year, perhaps yet another testament to how the UK feels about keeping their Fords in top-notch condition.
