FlatSix 2023
Players Classic, The Goodwood Revival, The Festival of Speed there's plenty of great reasons to visit the legendary Goodwood Circuit over the course of the show season, massive multi-marque affairs, all featuring some of the craziest car builds you'll see on the word stage.
But then again, if you're after something just a little more intimate for the true automotive connoisseur, and crucially you happen to be a fan of the mighty Porsche badge (and, let's face it, who isn't?), FlatSix is easily one of the all-time greats.
Bringing together both the air- and water-cooled communities from all over Europe, this event has quite the following nowadays. And it's not only a show that we love, but one that's more than worthy of our support as a main sponsor.
Now obviously, being such Porsche aficionados, and having one or two (actually three) Boxer engine beauties on the AF fleet, FlatSix is an event we didn't want to miss. And it doesn't hurt that getting out on track at Goodwood happens to be one of our favourite pastimes, too. Add that to the fact that just a day or so before the event a brand new GT4 happened to turn up at the Detailing Academy equipped for future track duties. And it's all pretty handy we think you'll agree. Call it luck, call it fate, call it extremely expensive, either way, not being at FlatSix this year simply wasn't an option.
Anyway, aside from James' (the boss of all things AF) spanky new track toy, we also loaded up his 992 GTS and old skool 993 ready to be perfected and on display at the legendary circuit. With a little more room on the massive transporter we could also bring along a couple of special guests - Sultan's LS V8 powered, Flachbau-kitted drifter and about the cleanest GT2 you're ever likely to see. Quite the line-up of exotica for our stand this time around then, eh?
With the display cars thoroughly detailed on their way, all that was left was to load up a van or two of the world's best detailing products (because, well, you can't get too many in a little German sportscar, even when there's five of them) and get ourselves down to the south coast…
Now it goes without saying that we had plenty of fun, both on or stand and out on the tarmac. But of course, it's not just about our very own selection of Stuttgart's finest, there were plenty of other top offerings there to ponder. The weather may not have been all that kind this time around, but it didn't dampen anyone's spirits, the UK's finest Porsches we're certainly out in force. When they said that FlatSix is a celebration of all things Porsche, they weren't kidding.
You know what they say though, a picture paints a thousand words. So, here's some of our top cars and other goings on from the day… be sure to swipe through our special gallery to see if we spotted yours!
There's no doubt that this show was a must for any Porsche fan, in fact, we just can't wait until the next one. Thanks to everyone who supported the show and popped by our stand to pick up a detailing product or two.
